When Hearts Speak

I Just moved into my new place
Ready to make memories in this new space
I didn’t know anyone around me
The wind blows and your scent is surrounding
Your perfume caught me by surprise
I couldn’t believe what I saw with my eyes
Stand in the sunlight your hair was glowing
And then the blood in my heart started flowing

I cleared my throat and then I spoke
And here is what my heart wrote:

For a short little thing, you’re very beautiful
And now I might not be quite what you’re looking for
I’ll tell you this now, I’ll even vow
No matter how long it takes, I’ll figure it out somehow
To make you happy, make you sad
Make you laugh, make you cry
We’ll be together until the day we die
And we’ll be holding hands, just living on our screen door front porch

It’s been two years now, since I felt the wind blow
I see you through the blinds, walking to our town home
I started to cry, because I knew it was time
Because this is the day, it’s just you and I
From the end of the future, and beginning of the past
I always knew that we would last
We have become something I couldn’t believe
And then I got down on one knee

I cleared my throat and then I spoke
And here is what my heart wrote:

Won’t you be my wife, stay right by my side
Through thick and thin I know we can survive
I know the time is right, and we have the will to fight
For the better in us, I know it’s you I trust
And we have become more than a sequel
The only one I’ve ever loved, and I’ve ever known
And longer
