Daily Mission (v2)

Verse 1
Coffee brews in a quiet kitchen light,
But my pulse still scans for ghosts in the night.
This isn’t war, but it echoes the same
Silence too loud, no one to blame.

Shoes by the door, alarms set to ring,
But my mind replays the smallest things.
A bag of groceries, a crowded store
Somewhere inside, I’m back at the war.

Chorus
This is the mission they never wrote down,
No medals here, no uniformed crown.
Just a man with a list and a heavy mind,
Marching through memories he can’t leave behind.

Verse 2
Every laugh feels a beat out of sync,
Like I’m nodding along but forgot how to think.
“Thank you for your service”, a phrase on repeat,
But they don’t know the hell beneath my feet.

A glance at the mirror, I barely blink,
Who is this face that forgets how to shrink?
I carry their names in a tucked-away file,
The mission today? Make it through with a smile.

Chorus
This is the mission that no one can see,
A war fought quietly, internally.
Each breath is a step, each moment a choice,
To silence the noise without losing my voice.

Bridge
I write in notebooks I never show,
Trying to chart the ebb and the flow.
And in the static, a whisper breaks through
You’re still here. You’re still pushing. That’s something true.

Verse 3
No parades down these cracked sidewalks,
Just morning routines and internal talks.
But every step taken, every chore done,
Is proof that the war isn’t all that I’ve won.

Chorus
This is the mission I live every day,
Finding pieces of peace along the way.
Some battles are loud, some barely a sound
But this quiet war is still battleground.

Outro
So if you see me pause mid-breath or stare,
It’s not weakness, just warfare stripped bare.
This daily mission, I fight without fame,
Not for country now, but to reclaim my name.
